Cricut Infusible Ink is an ideal DIY product that helps you create personalized professional transfer into t-shirts, coasters, tote bags, and many more things. It is very different from vinyl heat transfer, iron-on, or HTV, although it sounds like them. Vinyl or iron-on made artwork sits on the top of products, but infusible ink made the artwork that becomes the pat of the products by mixing with it. This is the big difference between other artworks and infusible artwork.
You will get vibrant colours that will not be peeled, wrinkled, or cracked. This colour will not wash out after washing. You can pull a shirt with infusible ink artwork, and you will see that along with the fabric; it also stretches. The reason is that it has become a part of the fabric by infusing into it. You can get professional results by making your products.
Cricut Infusible Ink Science
The materials used in Cricut infusible ink undergo the process of Sublimation. In this process, the substantial changes to gas directly, which gets infused into holes of base materials. It is the main thing behind this.

An image can be drawn from the design space by putting the marker in the machine. By uploading the image to the machine you have, you can draw it with the help of your hands or machine your design. Design is drawn on laser transfer with the help of Cricut Easypress 2 or heat-press; the design is transferred on an infusible ink-compatible blank.

It can be used for the cutting and scoring of many different materials. You can even use the Cricut Explore machine. Fabric, leather, crepe paper, and balsa wood can be beautifully cut through this machine.
Cricut Easy Press 2
Commonly, a heat press can be used, but you can even use Easy Press 2 with infusible circuit ink instead of a heat press. Heat Press is also placed in easy press two and can heat up to 400 degrees, and it is portable. The Cricut Easy Press possesses these features to make it perfect. Their use is very simple and straightforward.
How to Use Cricut Infusible Ink
Here we will discuss the two projects created using infusible ink transfer sheets and two different blanks. These are a T-shirt and square coaster project.
Infusible Ink T-Shirt
Here we will know how to manufacture a t-shirt using Infusible Ink.
Materials Required:
- Transfer Sheets of Infusible Ink
- Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore
- Standard Grip Mat
- Cricut Easy Press 2 or Cricut Easy Press
- Cricut Easy Press Mat
- Cricut T-shirt Blank
- Two Sheets of Butcher Paper
- White Cardstock
- Lint Roller
- Scissors
Procedure:
- Infusible Ink transfer sheet will be placed onto a green standard grip mat. It is placed so that its color side or upper and the liner side are down.
- You will get a free cut file from Cricut design space. You will get any design for your T-shirt from the Cricut design space. As we are creating T-shirts for summer and lazy beach days, you can pick up a Cricut design of a letter containing “Sea You Again.” The design can be resized if needed. After resizing, I can cut it. The design should be mirrored.
- For browsing, select “browse all materials” and select “infusible ink transfer sheet.” If you use the Cricut Explore machine, then turn the dial to the “Custom” first.
- For the process of cutting, press the flashing “Go” button after loading the mat and bleeding into the machine.
- From the mat, the cut infusible ink transfer sheet is removed. The scissors are used to cut around the design, and the remaining transfer sheet is saved for another project.
- During the whole process, ensure that your hands are moisture-free because this can cause problems with the infusible ink transfer sheets. By doing so, you can easily cut the pieces and also separate them with comfort.
- The rolling of the cut design should be done gently. Removal of the negative pieces from the design should be done with your fingers so that there will be only designs left on your liner.
- The process of weeding infusible ink transfer sheets is much easier. Its peeling up is very easy because the transfer sheets are much thicker.
- For the adjustment to the easy press heat plate, you can also trim the liner.
- For the removal of tiny debris and fibers from the shirt, a lint roller is used. It is the most important step. You may think that it is not necessary but do not skip this step. Even if a small amount of debris is present, it can also create problems in the transfer, and you will not want that.
- The shirt should be covered with butcher paper. Each package of infusible ink transfer sheets contains butcher paper.
- For the removal of moisture, the transfer will be preheated. For this project, you have to press 385 degrees for 15 seconds.
- After this, remove the butcher paper and let the shirt cool completely.
- Cut ink transfer design sheets are placed on the short so that the design faces down and the clear line is on the top.
- The butcher paper that is larger than easy press heat paper is covered. The easy press is placed over the design for 40 seconds at 385 degrees by setting the easy press 2 for 40 seconds.
- If you want everything according to your expectations, then do not move at all. Without moving the stack on the butcher paper, the easy press two is left upon the beep.
- After cooling firstly remove the butcher paper and then the liner with the design.
- The removal of design is done with the help of tweezers, not with your fingers as if it does not come up according to your expectation because you do not want to destroy your shirt.
- The most satisfying part of this whole process is lifting the liner. You will be shocked after seeing that you made it by yourself at your home.
- After the whole process, the shirt will look like a pro print it, or you bought it. No one believes that you made it by yourself.
- Check the whole T-shirt and make sure that the ink is mingled into the T-shirt and does not only print on the top as it does with iron-on.
- For the creation of a completely smooth surface, the ink is mingled into the T-shirt. You will be so impressed with it.
Precaution
The washing of the T-shirt should be done with cold water and mild detergent. Fabric Softener, dryer sheets, or bleach should not be used.

The Layering of Cricut Infusible Ink
Cricut Infusible Ink is often superimposed in many ways with totally different results. You have to collect a few things and processes. One of the advantages of this product is the ability to mix multiple style layers seamlessly. Many things to notice about layering Cricut infusible ink:
- Every layer should be applied on an individual basis.
- Continuously use a replacement piece of wrapping paper for every layer to stop re-transferring ink.
- Every layer needs to cool before heat-setting another layer.
- You have to combine infusible ink transfer sheets and pen/marker drawn designs.
- You have to layer different patterns and colors of transfer sheets too.
- Dark colors can continuously show through. You should not layer a light color on prime of a dark color and expect the sunshine color to show.
- Prepare the surfaces you are heat-setting.
- Follow Cricut’s instructions and tips to heat-set the primary layout layer.
- Allow the surface to cool, and then the transferring of design is done.
- By covering the design with butcher paper next layer is placed and heated. Then it is allowed to cool.
- Repeat the steps two or three times for as many layers of infusible ink you want to switch.
Cricut Infusible Ink with a Regular Iron
For better results, consistent heating is needed for infusible ink. Around 380 degrees to 400 degrees of temperature is needed. Due to high temperatures, infusible ink will not work well with a standard iron.
Use of Infusible Ink with other Cutting Machines
Cricut Infusible Ink is designed in such a way that it works well with Cricut tools. The cutting of transfer sheets is done similarly to vinyl, cardstock, or other materials. Cricut infusible ink can be tested with other cutting machines for best results. The design of the Cricut infusible pen is made so that it perfectly fits the penholder on Air, Air 2, Cricut explore, and Cricut maker machines. Hands can also use the pens.
Cricut Infusible Ink Markers And Pens
Cricut machine is used to draw designs with the help of infusible ink pens and markers. You can use it to draw designs with any other Cricut pen. The design is transferred according to your specific needs for the blank that is used. The designs should be mirrored before we draw them because there is a chance of developing a reverse design during transferring.

- It is not available everywhere like Cricut maker the only shop you can buy this is Michaels Stores.
- You need to purchase several different products before using infusible ink.
- While ironed or HTV materials can be used almost everywhere, infusible ink requires Sublimation. Cricut makes many matching posts. You can also use any non-abrasive sublimation or any fabric with at least 80 percent polyester.
- HTV works well in any color or texture, but you need to work with brightly colored objects with infusible ink to maintain bright colors. Infusible ink-black shirts or black colors are not an option. Stay with whites, bright colors, and light grey for best results.
- Creating requires SVG cottage and a DIY shirt with Cricut Maker.
