In this article, we are going to tell you How To Log Out Of iMessage On Macbook.

iMessage is one of the best communication platforms for iOS users, just as WhatsApp is for Android users. Most of the messaging and texts are always going on iPhones, and most of the conversations happen on that tiny screen. But, sometimes, we prevent ourselves from checking our phones for texts and calls.

During office hours, you might not be able to access your iPhone, but if you have a MacBook or Mac computer, you can log in. And most people do this to keep track of essential texts or messages from delivery partners. As good as that sounds, keeping your iMessage logged in can deprive you of privacy. So, when it’s not necessary, it is advisable to keep your message off the MacBook.

So, how are you supposed to do that? We will talk about how to log in and out of iMessage on your MacBook. So, read further to know the details.

You are able to send and get messages while operating your Mac, thanks to the iMessage feature. The consecutive notifications, on the other hand, may disturb some users or seize to protect their privacy. If your condition galls in the second care, signing out of iMessage on a Mac is easy.

Read further for a detailed explanation.

Method 1: Logging Out from MacBook

Step 1. Click the dock’s message button. It appears as a blue icon with a thought bubble-like shape.

Step 2. After the application launches, select the Messages option in the top left corner of the window, next to the Apple logo.

Step 3. Following the messages, you will see a drop-down bar appear in the background. The Messages menu will prompt you to select Preferences.

Step 4. You will have to open the General and iMessage options. Click on the blue icon for iMessage, which resembles the @ sign.

Step 5. Next, click the Sign-Out button next to the Apple ID in the Settings tab to completely disable the app’s messaging functionality.

Step 6. You’ll receive a notification asking you to confirm the iMessage sign-out. To successfully log out of iMessage on your Mac, click Sign Out.

All you have to do is that. Your Mac has now successfully logged you out of iMessage with the first method.

Method 2. Logging Out from iPhone

Step 1. Grab your iPhone, then select “Settings.”

Step 2. Next, select “Messages” by swiping down.

Step 3. From there, go on to swipe below and select “Send and Receive”.

Step 4. You’ll get to see a list of email IDs and the registered contact number you entered when setting up your iPhone for the first time under the “You can be reached by iMessage at” section.

You cannot keep from selecting your contact number because it is greyed out by default and checked. To disable any email addresses that are restricted, simply tap on them.

As a result, Messages will be able only to contact your phone number. Text message receiving and sending will no longer work on your Mac.
